I have served as the Pastor of Youth & Families at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Norfolk, MA since 2005. My wife and I have two elementary-aged kids who fill their lives with joyful noise much of the day. You may hear some about my family in passing, but I prefer to keep the details of my family life offline.
I have been educated at Gordon College (B.A. in Youth Ministries and in Biblical & Theological Studies) and received both his M.Div. and D.Min. at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. My doctoral thesis is entitled “Youth Ministry as Bridge Between Church & Home” and focuses on how a youth ministry can serve both the local church and parents in their dual-callings to evangelize and disciple the next generation. This ended up focusing largely on an exploration of catechesis (discipleship) throughout church history and what it would look like in the church and in the home today. One of my desires was to find a topic that would benefit my ministry not only as a youth pastor, but also the church-at-large.
Some of my favorite things include: Strong Coffee, Church History & Theology (Historical Theology in particular), the New England Patriots, and writing. Maybe one of these days I’ll get around to learning how to play the bass guitar that occupies one corner of my office.

Pastor Mike, This is FANTASTIC! Mission trip to BOSTON!!! What a WONDERFUL plan! I’m excited to see this and look forward to catching up with what you and the team are doing. The stories of interviews with homeless folks are heart rending and startling. I wish I were a teen in EBC’s group! How blessed they all are to participate in the realization of this vision. Just a typo in The Lord’s Prayer, 5th paragraph…This line in the prayer is significant, because ***we*** we pray we confess our sins to God and admit our need to be forgiven. You cannot receive forgiveness if you don’t admit that you need it!
